Our Vision Statement:
At Saint Joseph Books, we believe that life is a precious gift and a wonderful journey we take only once in this world, and the paths we choose and the decisions we make greatly impact how we will spend eternity.We believe that “love is nothing more than enlightened self-interest,” and that true saints, and especially hero-saints, are the greatest examples of how human life should be lived.We believe that a life well-lived never happens accidentally or automatically, and we agree with Socrates when he says, “the unexamined life is not worth living.”True Christian discipleship, therefore, demands that Christians live an examined life. At Saint Joseph Books, we are dedicated to: (1) living the examined Christian life and exploring models of sainthood, especially hero-sainthood; (2) propagating them through the telling of hero stories; and (3) developing and promulgating a theology of hero-sainthood.
Our General Mission Statement:
Saint Joseph Books is a Christian literary ministry serving the needs of Christian families and dedicated to fostering Christian family values in the twenty-first century.Saint Joseph Books is under the patronage of Saint Joseph, the foster father of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of the first explicitly Christian family, and the first model of Christian fatherhood.
Our Particular Mission Statement:
Saint Joseph Books publishes Christian nonfiction books, particularly those that seek to develop and promote a theology of hero-sainthood and the telling of hero stories, especially those of hero-saints. We are currently publishing the series A Hero Is Chosen in six languages: Deutsch, English, Español, Français, Italiano, and Português.Someday, God willing, we would like to become “The First Self-Publishing Imprint for Christian Nonfiction Authors,” and if God wills, we may begin accepting manuscript summaries or submissions from other independent Christian nonfiction authors who wish to publish on Saint Joseph Books.
